Cheryl Hartley is the general manager of Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia. She has more than 25 years of experience in non-profit administration and development, retail management, public service, tourism, and hospitality.  Her passionate advocacy for economic development through the arts began with her work as Director of Artist Services for the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  She later served on SWAIA’s board of directors and co-chaired the Santa Fe Indian Market Standards Committee.

Cheryl Hartley currently serves on the boards of the World Craft Council – North America and the Raleigh County Arts Council. She is the immediate past board chair for the Craft Organization Development Association (CODA) and is an annual facilitator at CODA’s national craft leadership conference. She has a strong interest in building creative communities within West Virginia.  Cheryl has worked regionally with the Craft Advisory Council of the HandMade Institute for Creative Economies in Asheville, North Carolina.

Cheryl Hartley has been with Tamarack for 11 years. She holds a BA in anthropology from Temple University and a Master's of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication from West Virginia University.
