Tamarack Foundation Teresa Pauley Artisan Relief Program (TARP)
Renamed in 2009 in memory of former Foundation board member and founding member of TARP, it was Teresa Pauley's dream to help those artists and artisans who needed help the most during times of career threatening circumstances. Since 2005, the Tamarack Foundation has provided $68,000 in TARP grants to individuals who are juried into Tamarack. The review committee responds quickly in order to provide a bridge of support until further resources can be aligned. Financial support of the program is made possible by individual contributions to the Foundation.

The greatest source of income to the Relief Program is the annual artisan auction that is generously supported with donations of fine art and craft, gourmet specialty foods, fine furniture, performing and literary arts from Tamarack's own juried artisans. A favorite fundraiser for the statewide community, the annual auction and its gala generates needed funds for the operations of the Foundation and its many statewide program offerings.

Type of Help
TARP offers grants up to $5,000 for Tamarack artisans who have been directly affected by significant disasters such as destructive floods, fires, etc., and life maintenance grants for necessities, such as emergency medical, food and housing needs. Additionally, under certain circumstances, grant amounts in excess of $5,000 and temporary bridge loans may be approved by the Tamarack Foundation Board of Directors. Priority for grants will be given to those most severely affected by career threatening events. (Please note that if you receive a grant, you are required to report the award as income when filing your tax return with the IRS.)

Criteria for Assistance
All applicants must meet basic eligibility requirements and submit completed applications with all required supporting documents in order to have their application reviewed. TARP’s decision regarding the amount of funding and an applicant’s access to other services shall be based on need.

Every effort will be made to expedite the decision-making process. If the application is incomplete, the applicant will be notified. TARP does not discriminate against applicants based on sex, race, religion, color, age, national origin, disability or sexual orientation.

Applicants must fill out and return the application form with all requested information. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
