Their Name Means Medicine: The Story of the Myers Family
Dr. J.W. Myers and his wife and their descendants have set a high standard for health care in north central West Virginia. Beginning in Nestorville in 1897, Dr. J.W.'s practice grew to the point that he felt compelled to establish The Myers Remedy Company. Moving to Philippi, WV, in 1910, he and his wife, Lennie, and their sons established the Myers Clinic-Hospital and later Broaddus Hospital. All five of the Myers children and two of the grandchildren became physicians. This is an epic story of a family which has benefited thousands of people in West Virginia and far beyond.
