Roaring Creek is a novel written by Emerson "Willie" Williams.  Based on a true story, this book will show the Confederate soldier in a whole new light.  Clarke Lewis leaves his wife and home on Roaring Creek in the mountains of Greenbrier County, Virginia, now West Virginia, in 1861 to fight for the Confederacy.  An adventure filled, insightful and fast paced novel follows his adaptation to a life he never knew.  The emotions of love, triumph, defeat, capture and imprisonment, personal and social growth and exposure to various personalities follow him through 14 battles.  He hears the cannon in the streets of Lewisburg, along Dry Creek in White Sulphur Springs, and the crack of rifles among the cliffs of Droop Mountain.  March with him to victory at New Market with VMI cadets and see, first hand, the carnage at Cold Harbor.
