Mary Jane "Mollie" Hansford was born at Paint Creek in 1828 and lived in the Kanawha Frontier until her marriage in 1853. This book of her recollections and reflections was transcribed by William D. Wintz from her original manuscript. By describing in detail events first hand and the life styles and customs of the people of her time, Mollie has given a clearer and more profound understanding of traditional West Virginia and historical heritage.
