Piano Poetry
Samuel Saunders, 15, began playing the piano about five years ago. During that time, he has greatly enjoyed learning pieces by well known composers such as Rachmaninoff and Chopin, but especially enjoys studying the more obscure composers. Currently, he is practicing Dohnanyi's Fourth Concert Etude and hopes to start the Henselt Concerto soon. He has studied music theory and composition with Mark Scarpelli in Charleston, WV, and is currently studying with David Tcimpidis of the Mannes School in New York. He studies classical piano with Vickie Cavendish. He is a sophomore at George Washington High School this fall. Piano Poetry is a CD of Original Compositions by Sam. SOngs include, Echos of Autumn, Concerto in G Minor and Nocturne for my Mom.
