Tamarack Jury Information

 

Learn about Tamarack's Craft, Fine Craft and Fine Art Jury Process

In 2008, Tamarack incorporated a new jury process to more effectively serve West Virginia artisans.  Every item sold at Tamarack is approved through a jury process.  A two-step jury process has been developed for artisans who feel their products are “The Best of West Virginia.

 

If you are interested in establishing a business partnership with Tamarack, your first step is to schedule a pre-screening/counseling session at the Tamarack Foundation Artisan Resource Center located at 410 Neville Street in downtown Beckley.  Appointments are accepted for Wednesdays and Thursdays.   Our trained staff will work to help you prepare for the jury session.  The second step is for those who are recommended to proceed will be invited to a formal jury session held at the Tamarack Conference Center.

 

As a Tamarack artisan, you will be eligible to wholesale to Tamarack and be able to participate in various business, marketing, education and retail opportunities sponsored by the Tamarack Foundation.

$10.00            Pre-screening/Counseling Session

Materials you will receive:  Tamarack Foundation Artisan Resource Guide, Marketing tips, Developing and Artist Statement, Pricing Guidelines, West Virginia Arts Web Sites, Business Plan Outline, WV Small Business Development Center locations, Tamarack Retail Overview 2009, Developing Business Skills, and WVU Licensing Information.

$20.00            Jury Session
PRE-REQUISITEpre-screening through the Artisan Resource Center. At the jury session you will receive a one-on-one evaluation of your products by one of Tamarack's juried master craft persons/artists.  The session includes a business seminar for attendees provided by the Women's Business and Training Center of Beckley, WV.  Access to information from other arts groups, shows, fairs, shops, etc.

The Tamarack Foundation Artisan Resource Center is going “On the Road” to a location near you.

Books, Music, Videos, and DVDs are juried on an on-going basis at Tamarack.  If you are interested in having your product juried for sale at Tamarack, please click the media-specific link below and the complete application with the appropriate information. 

 

To submit your media consideration, send your book, CD, Video or DVD, with the completed application to Robin Watson, Artisan Services Coordinator, One Tamarack Park, Beckley, WV  25801.
