Learn about Tamarack's Craft, Fine Craft and Fine Art Jury Process

Every item sold at Tamarack is approved through a jury process.  A two-step process has been developed for artisans who feel their products are “The Best of West Virginia.”

If you are interested in establishing a business partnership with Tamarack, your first step is to schedule a pre-screening/counseling appointment at the Tamarack Foundation Artisan Resource Center located at 410 Neville Street in downtown Beckley.  Appointments are accepted for Wednesdays and Thursdays.   Our trained staff will work to help you prepare for the jury session.  If approved through the pre-screening process, the second step is to participate in a formal jury session held at the Tamarack Conference Center.
 
As a Tamarack artisan, you will be eligible to wholesale to Tamarack and be able to participate in various business, marketing, education and retail opportunities sponsored by the Tamarack Foundation.

Artisan Costs
Pre-screening/Counseling Session - $20.00
Materials you will receive:  Tamarack Foundation Artisan Resource Guide, Marketing tips, Developing an Artist Statement, Pricing Guidelines, West Virginia Arts Web Sites, Business Plan Outline, WV Small Business Development Center locations, Tamarack Retail Overview 2010, Developing Business Skills, WVU Licensing Information and much more.

Jury Session - $30.00
Pre-screening through the Artisan Resource Center is a requirement. At the jury session you will receive a one-on-one evaluation of your products by one of Tamarack's juried master craft persons/artists.  The session includes a business seminar for attendees provided by the Women's Business and Training Center of Beckley, WV.  Access to information from other arts groups, shows, fairs, shops, etc. will be provided.
 

Books, Music and DVD Jurying
$15.00 Books and CDs, $30.00 DVDs

 

Books, Music and DVDs are juried quarterly at Tamarack.
